Corporate Social Responsibility
(CSR)
In today’s fast moving world, every corporate
has its responsibilities towards the society. We at PIC believe
that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is about reaching out
to the underprivileged and connecting with the heart. With this
belief, we at Philips are associated with several NGO’s like
Sampark, Unnati, SBHR, RKMS, Pragathi etc. This year, Philips
has sponsored 2 buses for Akshaya Patra. We have contributed 3
and a half lakhs for RKMS project which includes education and
healthcare components. On 14th November 07, a crèche for construction
worker’s children was inaugurated for the first time at Sarjapur,
Bangalore. 23 children of Nele and 33 students of Ashwini Charitable
Trust have been sponsored by Philips. A total of 512 children
have benefited from the sponsorships provided by us and around
642 adults have been provided healthcare and provided employability
through the various CSR initiatives that Philips has undertaken
this year alone.
Apart from this, Philips has also sponsored the construction of
a sound recording studio for Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled.
It has also supported the setting up of a computer lab at Arunachala
Village Trust, Thiruvannamalai, Tamilnadu. With such social projects,
we give to the society in whatever small way we can in the hope
of a better society tomorrow. Presently we have around 20 projects
with trustworthy NGO’s, all steered by PIC-ians. We have a CSR
Committee chaired by the CEO, which approves the projects including
the funding.
